How to set up your Foundations On-Prem ERP to Trimble for integrations
You must be a Foundation administrator and SQL administrator to complete these steps.
Note: For more information about the steps below, consult the support and training resources through your Foundation Client Portal.
Prerequisite: Ensure that your server meets the minimum requirements for the Xchange Agent. For more information, see Xchange Agent. Ensure that an Xchange Agent is not already installed on your server. Find your activation code by opening this connector's workspace, selecting the pencil icon by the workspace name, and then scrolling down to the Agent Info section. Record it for later.
1. Install the Xchange Agent.
a. Download the latest version of the Xchange Agent here.
b. Move the zip file to the server where the ERP is hosted.
c. Install the Xchange Agent by following the instructions in the installation wizard. When prompted, enter your activation code.
2. In Foundation, create a new user with the settings below.
a. Enter XChangeServiceUser in the User ID field.
b. Enter XChange Service User in the Name field.
c. Create a strong password and re-enter it to confirm.
e. Select the company you want to connect in the Company No field.
f. Check ODBC Access.
g. Select OK.
3. In an SQL manager, grant the appropriate SQL permissions for XChangeServiceUser.
a. Find the XChangeServiceUser in your database.
b. Select the pending_po_sync_header securable.
c. Grant the user Alter, Delete, Insert, Select, and Update permissions.
d. Select the pending_po_sync_item_detail securable.
e. Grant the user Alter, Delete, Insert, Select, and Update permissions.
f. Save the new settings.
Note: Ensure that the XChange SQL User does not have db_denydatawriter permission applied.
4. Send your App Xchange Customer Success Manager the following information:
XChangeServiceUser password
Database name
Foundation company code
Important: Passwords must be securely shared via your preferred method.
Once your App Xchange Customer Success Manager confirms that your XChangeServiceUser was successfully created, your ERP Connection is complete. Next, they will configure the Foundation Connector in your App Xchange Workspace.
