User Roles and Permissions

User roles define which actions an App Xchange user account can perform on the platform. Permissions are assigned to roles and describe what users can do within the various features of the platform.

Only users with an administrator role can modify user roles and permissions.

User Roles

There are three user role options to assign to an account.

Administrator

An administrator has the most access to a specific account. This includes inviting and managing users, running flows and schedules, editing existing integrations, managing workspaces, and managing users on the company account. An account admin cannot create flows, integrations, or connectors without the appropriate permissions.

User

A user has access to most data on an account in a view and operating capacity. An account user can run a schedule or a flow as well as update a config on an integration.

Read Only

A read-only user is only able to view data on their account. The majority of actions will not be available.

Additional Roles

Additional roles provide users access to features their assigned roles would not normally have access to. Once assigned, users will have to log out and log in again to access the additional roles.

Flow Author

A flow author has permission to manage services and create, update, and run flows in any workspace they have access to. This includes read and write access. A flow author can edit a flow, its configurations, and its steps.

Integration Author

An integration author has permission to create, update, and manage integrations. This includes read and write access. An integration author can edit integration features and configurations.

Connector Author

A connector author has permission to create, update, and manage connectors. This includes read and write access. A connector author can define an entire connector configuration using the connector builder feature.

App Builder Author

An app builder author has permission to manage connectors in the App Builder. This includes read and write access.

Platform Administrator

The platform administrator role is only available for a small subset of users. A platform administrator has permission to perform all administrative actions. It also allows users to manage Cloud Services and Platform Settings.
