Sage 100 Connector Configuration

Creating a SQL Server User is an essential step in configuring a Sage 100 Contractor connector.

Before you begin: you must be a Sage 100 Contractor administrator to complete these steps.

Note: App Xchange is only compatible with Sage version 18 or newer. Ensure your instance is fully updated for best results.

1. In Sage 100 Contractor, select Start Database Administration in the bottom right to open the Database Administration tool.
   Note: If you do not see this option, log into Sage 100 with Administrator rights.

2. Navigate to Company Admins / SQL Logins > Add SQL Server Login and create a new user with the settings below.

   1. Set Authentication to SQL Server Authentication.

   2. Login: API-User

   3. Password: Create a strong password

   4. Check Add as member of the ‘sysadmin’ server role.

   5. Select Create SQL Login.

3. Navigate to Add Company Administrator.

4. Assign API-User to the Sage 100 company you want to connect.

5. Navigate to Modify SQL Server Administrators and confirm API-User is listed as a sysadmin with the box checked. If not, check the box and hit Save.

6. Close Sage 100 Contractor and open Sage 100 Contractor SQL.

7. In Sage 100 Contractor SQL, select 7-2-1 Security Groups from the main menu.

8. Create a new security group with the appropriate information in the fields below:

   1. Group #: Enter any unique number

   2. Group: API

   3. Save: Yes

   4. Delete: Yes

   5. Select the Save icon.

9. Navigate to Administration > User List.

10. Select 7-2-2 User List from the main menu. 

11. Create an entry with the user name API-User and add it to the API group you created in step 8. The user name must exactly match the user name created in step 2b. Do not click the Password column or modify any other columns. Select the Save icon.

12.  Send your App Xchange Customer Success Manager the following information:

• SQL Server User name

• SQL Server User password

Important: Passwords must be securely shared via your preferred method.

Once your App Xchange Customer Success Manager confirms that your SQL Server User was successfully created, your ERP Connection is complete. Next, they will configure the Sage 100 Connector in your App Xchange Workspace.
